The new deadline is <strong>October 1, 2025<\/strong>, or until the next official revision of the Scheme is announced by the Minister.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scheme Categories<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Scheme includes the following installation categories:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Category A \u2013 Net-Metering:<\/strong> Refers to the generation of electricity through photovoltaic (PV) systems and the offsetting of imported electricity from the grid against the exported electricity injected by the PV system.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Category B \u2013 Net-Billing:<\/strong> Can be combined with Category E (virtual net-billing). The total production from the local renewable energy system and any virtual systems is offset against the consumption bill of the serviced premises.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Category D \u2013 Virtual Net-Metering:<\/strong> The electricity generated by a PV system is offset against the electricity imported by a <strong>single residential unit, agricultural property, or winery<\/strong>, located in a different place from the PV system.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Category E \u2013 Virtual Net-Billing:<\/strong> The exported electricity from a PV system is offset against the imported electricity from one or more premises located in a different place from the PV system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Scheme Objectives and Participant Benefits<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Scheme aims to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Promote the production of clean, renewable energy.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce energy costs for households, businesses, and communities.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen energy autonomy and independence.<\/li>\n<li>Contribute to the achievement of national and EU targets for carbon emissions reduction.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligible Applicants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications may be submitted by:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Categories A, B &amp; E:<\/strong> All electricity consumers, including households and businesses.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Category D:<\/strong> Residential consumers, professional farmers, and wineries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Application Procedure<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applications can be submitted either <strong>online<\/strong> or at the local <strong>District Offices of the Distribution System Operator (DSO \u2013 EAC)<\/strong>.
