Green Week 2026 Presented to the Media: Seven Days of Action for a More Sustainable Limassol

 

Bringing together local authorities, businesses and organisations, with Green Energy Group serving as Grand Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year.

Limassol, 9 October 2026 – The programme and objectives of Green Week 2026 were officially presented during a press conference held on Wednesday, 7 October, at the Panos Solomonides Cultural Centre in Limassol, attended by representatives of local authorities, businesses, organisations and the media.

Organised for the fourth consecutive year by Cypronetwork Group, Green Week 2026 will take place from 12 to 18 October, featuring ten initiatives focused on the green transition, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility, environmental education and community engagement.

The press conference was attended by the Mayor of Polemidia, Andros Theodorou; the General Manager of the Limassol District Local Government Organisation, Socratis Metaxas; the Deputy Mayor of Germasogeia, Christos Papamichael; the Municipal Engineer of Kourion Municipality, Solonas Louka; and the CEO of EMEL, George Kyriakou.

Also in attendance were Pambos (Charalambos) Kyriakou, CEO of Green Energy Group, and Christos Michaelides, Executive Chairman of Cypronetwork Group.

During the presentation, Mr Michaelides outlined the programme of activities and highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in advancing sustainability at the local level.

Representing Green Energy Group, Mr Kyriakou reaffirmed the Group’s longstanding commitment to Green Week and emphasised the importance of awareness, education and practical solutions in supporting the energy transition.

With extensive experience in the energy sector, Green Energy Group continues its support as Grand Sponsor for the fourth consecutive year. Through GreenCharge, the Group’s electric mobility business, it will showcase EV charging infrastructure and solutions at the Electromobility Exhibition.

Seven days of initiatives across Limassol

This year’s programme includes a roundtable discussion on the green transition of local authorities and Limassol’s traffic challenges, EMEL’s Green Route featuring an electric bus, environmental and educational activities, green cinema, a tree-planting initiative at Kale Vounari and community-focused events involving students and residents.

A key highlight will be the Electromobility Exhibition on 17 and 18 October at Limassol Marina, where visitors will have the opportunity to explore electric vehicles, micromobility solutions and modern EV charging infrastructure.

The week will conclude with the Green Awards ceremony, recognising businesses, organisations and local authorities contributing to sustainability and environmental progress.
