The Department of Road Transport (DRT) has officially announced the sponsorship categories for the government’s Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme, following approval by the Council of Ministers. The announcement includes 97 vehicle grants and 18 motorcycle grants.

The total budget for this third call amounts to €1,165,000 and covers seven vehicle categories, including:

• Plug-in hybrids with vehicle withdrawal,
• Zero-emission vehicles for private individuals,
• Grants for persons with disabilities (PWD), large families,
• and electric motorcycles.

The grants range from €1,500 to €20,000, with the maximum eligible vehicle purchase price set at €80,000.

Application submissions open on June 30, 2025, and the deadline for vehicle registration is December 31, 2025.

Once this round of grants is exhausted, a new incentive scheme will be launched, with a total budget of €2,500,000, which will also include subsidies for used electric vehicles.
