On Thursday, February 02, 2023, the Minister of Energy, Trade, and Industry, Natasa Pileidou presented the Guide to the Grant Scheme for the Energy Upgrade of Homes, with a budget of €35 million. This is the second announcement due to a Plan for the programming period 2021-2027. The first call for €35 million was announced in March 2021 and was successfully completed three months later, with the submission of 2,152 applications to the fully automated system developed by the Ministry for grant schemes.

The Scheme covers up to €32,000 and approximately 60% of the expenditure for the energy upgrade, while for vulnerable households and mountainous areas 80% of the expenditure is covered. The inclusion of mountainous areas in the category of beneficiaries for increased sponsorship is one of the innovations of the new announcement.
